How to Export and Import Connections

A step by step guide on how to share connections between Aspera products. This article will discuss how to export one or multiple connections from an Aspera Client, Point to Point or server GUI to be imported into another Aspera computer or to another user on the same computer for Client or Point to Point. When the connection is exported (and later imported) it will have all attributes.

For products prior to version 3.6.2, the password to connections will also be automatically saved. For version 3.6.2 and later, note that you will need to manually re-enter all connection passwords.
Connections Window

Locate the connections window on the right side of the Aspera interface. This is where connections can be selected to export. In the image above the connections window is outlined in red.

Select Multiple Connections and Export

Left click on any connection you wish to export. To export multiple connections, hold down the control button and click on each connection. Right click on one of your selected connections and select Export

Save to a File

After selecting Export, a file explorer window will pop up. Browse and select Save to save the connections file to that location.

Transfer the saved connections file to the computer where they are to be imported. In the Aspera program you want to import to, right click on the connections window and select Import.

Locate File to Import

In the file explorer window, browse to the location of the connections file and select it. After selecting, click on open. This completes the export and importing connections process.

Connections can be exported and imported between any operating system and any of the following products: Aspera Enterprise server, Aspera Point-to-Point, Aspera Client and Aspera Connect server.
