This article describes how to create a debug log for a problematic Windows MSI installation package. This option should only be used in cases where the install of your Aspera product produces and error in the install process, and it is not obvious what is causing the installation problem.
The program msiexec has a debug feature, which allows you to save an installation log file. The syntax is:
c:\> msiexec /i [Aspera MSI file] /l*v install.log
where [Aspera MSI file] is the actual Aspera installation file, for example: AsperaEnterprise-188.8.131.5266.msi
Please include the install.log file when you contact the Aspera Support team with an installer issue.
