Symlinked file reference paths replaced by “/” in Faspex 3.9.3 with Enterprise Server 3.6.0

Issue

Symlinked files sent through Faspex do not point to the correct path, meaning Faspex cannot find the file when a user attempts to download it. This affects only Linux users, for Faspex 3.9.3 and Enterprise Server 3.6.0.116106.

This is due to the filepath that the symlink file is referencing being replaced by /. For example, if the symlink file points to /home/aspera/packages/test.txt, the resulting symlinked file in Faspex points to /test.txt instead.

Environment

  • Product: Enterprise Server 3.6.0.116106 + Faspex 3.9.3
  • Operating System: Linux

Solution

A new build of Enterprise Server 3.6.0 was released on December 16, 2015 which fixes this issue. Download and reinstall this build (3.6.0.116904 or later) from the Aspera downloads page.
