What to do when Download folder is /Users/username/Desktop/Desktop in Aspera Connect for Mac OS?

Issue

/Users/username/Desktop/Desktop is being used as your download folder or your downloads are getting placed inside of a folder named Desktop on your Desktop.

Environment

  • Product: Connect browser plugin
  • Operating System: Mac OS X

Solution

1. Quit the Aspera Connect application

2. Delete the settings database located at: ~/.aspera/connect/connectdb.data

3. Install the latest Aspera Connect application

4. Open the Preferences for Aspera Connect and choose your preferred download location.
