Brian Din

Summary

This article describes how to run a silent (non-interactive) installation of v2.6.0 or higher of Enterprise Server, Connect Server, Point-to-Point, or Client for Windows.

Environment

  • Product: Aspera Enterprise Server, Connect Server, Point-to-Point, Client
  • Version: 2.6.0 or higher
  • Operating System: Windows XP, 2003, Vista, 2008, 7

Instructions

Steps for installing Aspera Enterprise Server v2.6.x in a non-interactive mode:

1. From the command line, execute the following command:

AsperaEnterpriseServer.exe /msicl "ADDLOCAL=ProdEntServer,FASP,ScpClient,Central,SSHServer,PostProcessor,SYNC,
FASPFRAMES,NODE,LICENSE ASPERA_SSHD_USER=svcAspera ASPERA_SSHD_USER_CONVERTED=.\svcAspera ASPERA_SSHD_PASS=password"
/quiet /log installation.log
  • Replace AsperaEnterpriseServer.exe with the exact name of the package.
  • Replace the two instances of svcAspera with the service account that will be used to run the Aspera Services.
  • Replace the one instance of password with their account's password.

For domain account, instead of passing in "svcAspera" to the user arguments, pass in the domain account in these formats:

Please note that the command arguments are case-sensitive.

You can also optionally specify the install directory with the INSTALL_DIR setting, and adding ARPWrapper to the ADDLOCAL setting:

AsperaEnterpriseServer.exe /msicl "ADDLOCAL=ProdEntServer,FASP,ScpClient,Central,SSHServer,PostProcessor,SYNC,
FASPFRAMES,NODE,LICENSE,ARPWrapper INSTALLDIR="""C:\path\to\install_dir""" ASPERA_SSHD_USER=svcAspera ASPERA_SSHD_USER_CONVERTED=.\svcAspera ASPERA_SSHD_PASS=password"
/quiet /log installation.log

2. View installation.log in a text editor to confirm that the installation completed successfully. An entry near the end of the log should report that the installation completed successfully.
