Additional Information to search and manually remove

Depending on your version of the Aspera Connect browser plugin, follow the instructions below to uninstall Connect from your Mac.

Uninstalling

Connect 2.8.2 and later

These versions of Connect come with an uninstall script. Depending on whether you installed Connect for all the users on your Mac or just for one particular user, use one of the commands below to run the uninstall script. Be sure to close any open browsers before running the script.

System-wide installation (all users)
/Library/Application\ Support/Aspera/Aspera\ Connect/uninstall_connect.sh

Per-user installation
~/Library/Application\ Support/Aspera/Aspera\ Connect/uninstall_connect.sh

Connect earlier than 2.8.2

On early versions of Connect no uninstall script is available. Therefore, you will need to run the following commands to uninstall all Aspera Connect packages (administrative or private installations).

First, quit all browsers and Aspera Connect. Then in a shell terminal, run:

$ rm -rf /Applications/Aspera\ Connect.app
$ rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Aspera/Aspera\ Connect
$ rm -rf /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/Aspera\ Web*
$ sudo rm -rf /var/db/receipts/com.asperasoft.connect.*
$ rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Aspera\ Connect.app
$ rm -rf /Library/Receipts/AsperaConnect*
$ rm -f ~/Library/Preferences/com.aspera.connect.plist
$ rm -f ~/Library/Preferences/com.aspera.connect.plist
$ rm -rf ~/Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/Aspera\ Web*
