During the Faspex setup, you are asked to choose a password for the root user of the MySQL database. This password is stored and used by Faspex to access the database. If you've forgotten the password you may want to either view it or reset it. Use the instructions below to view and change your MySQL password.
Viewing the password
You can view this password by looking in the database.yml file which is found in one of the following directories:
- Linux: /opt/aspera/faspex/config
- Windows(32-bit): C:\Program Files\Aspera\faspex\config
- Windows(64-bit): C:\Program Files (x86)\Aspera\faspex\config
Changing the password
To change the MySQL password, enter the following command at the command line:
Please use this method to change your password as changing it directly through the MySQL interface will not update the Faspex configuration files, causing Faspex to lose access to the database.
