Defaulting redirect to Connect Server instead of Faspex on a combined Faspex/Connect Server install

Description

When Faspex and Connect Server are installed on the same system the default redirect in the browser is to Faspex.

For example, the proper URLs to access Faspex and the Connect Server webpage are:

my.hostname.com/aspera/faspex
my.hostname.com/aspera/user

If a user enters only

my.hostname.com

they are automatically re-directed to Faspex:

my.hostname.com/aspera/faspex

For customers who license both Faspex and Connect Server on a single server it is possible to change the default redirect to the Connect Server webpage.

Instructions

If you prefer the default redirect to be to Connect Server (/aspera/user) make the following change:

1. On Linux, back up faspex.apache.linux.conf which is located in /opt/aspera/faspex/config. On Windows, back up faspex.apache.windows.conf which is located in either c:\Program Files\Aspera\Faspex\config or c:\Program Files (x86)\Aspera\Faspex\config depending on your system.
2. Edit the original and change

# REDIRECT REQUESTS TO JUST '/'
RedirectMatch ^/$ /aspera/faspex

 to

# REDIRECT REQUESTS TO JUST '/'
RedirectMatch ^/$ /aspera/user

3. Restart Apache and Faspex using the following commands:

asctl apache:restart
asctl faspex:restart

Now if the user forgets to add the URI namespace (/aspera/faspex or /aspera/user) to the URL in their browser they will be automatically redirected to the Connect Server webpage. To access Faspex the user MUST enter the full URL (such as my.hostname.com/aspera/faspex).
