Using Cloudformation with Aspera Platform on Demand

Overview

This article review how to leverage AWS cloud formation templates for quick and easily deployment of your Aspera Platform on Demand without Console (APOD-woc).

Cloud formation default template

You can download an example template for the v.3.4.0 APOD release from this link.

You can download an example template for the v.3.2.2 APOD release from this link.

You can download an example template for the v.3.2 APOD release from this link.

 

This template will require you to input some information specific to your environment, such as:

  1. Customer Name
  2. Entitlement ID
  3. S3 Access Key
  4. S3 Secrete Key
  5. S3 bucketname
  6. AWS SSH key pair

NOTE: It is possible to hard code this information into a template and make your own. Additional examples will be included soon.

 

This template is built to complete the following tasks and configurations:

  1. Setup the software entitlement so you can perform aspera transfers
  2. Configure the xfer2 user with an S3 document root and bucket
  3. Configure Aspera Central to be acessible via a public interface
  4. Configure the persistent store feature of Aspera central
  5. Create a Security group with the following ports open:  TCP 22, TCP 33001, TCP 9092, TCP 40001, TCP 33001 and UDP 33001
