Getting "Invalid doc root path" error

 Issue

Getting error "Invalid doc root path" when trying to connect to your S3 docrooted AMI from Aspera GUI (Aspera Client, P2P or ES).

What is the problem

The S3 bucket that is linked to your AMI needs to be in the same region as your AMI.  For example, if your AMI is in US West (Oregon) region, your S3 bucket needs to be in US West.  If you set the docroot to a S3 bucket created in the EU (Ireland) region on an AMI that you boot up in the US West region, you will get the above error when trying to access your AMI from Aspera GUI.

 

What to do

Make sure the S3 bucket is in the same region as your AMI.
