Mounting Windows share to AOD

When mounting a Windows share on your AOD linux machine, the ownership needs to be decided during the mount process as it cannot be changed after.

Mounting manually:

This assumes your transfer user is xfer.  Replace the Hostname, directory to be mounted, directory to mount to, and user who has access to the share.

mount -t cifs //HOSTNAME/directory /mnt/directory -o,uid=xfer,gid=xfer,user=domain/user

Mounting via FSTAB:

This assumes your transfer user is xfer.  Replace the Hostname, directory to be mounted, directory to mount to, and credential file where you store credentials for a user who has access to the share.

//HOSTNAME /mnt/directory cifs uid=xfer,gid=xfer,credentials=/root/secrets/shares.cred,_netdev 0 0

Credential file format:

username=domain/user

password=password
