Known Issues
  • When logged into faspex, if you open a new browser tab and log into faspex as a different user, it may result in both users being logged out. This is for both users’ security.
  • A package or file that ends in a space cannot be downloaded on Windows. Workaround: Download the package or file from a Mac computer. (#9114)
  • During an upgrade on Windows XP 64-bit, if you encounter the following error during the “Installing Connect key...” step then follow the workaround.

Error: Error setting permissions on faspex user directory (1280) (RuntimeError)
Workaround:  
Run the upgrade using the built-in Administrator account. (#11026)

  • During an upgrade on Windows 2008 32-bit when Apache attempts to restart, if you encounter the following error then follow the workaround.

Error: Apache HTTPD Server (Aspera): The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.
Workaround:
 Install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) package. The download link is at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=A5C84275-3B97-4AB7-A40D-3802B2AF5FC2 (#11027)

  • During the Linux installation, if you encounter the following error during the “Creating system user...” step then follow the workaround.

Error: 'Error executing chsh -s /bin/aspshell-r faspex' (255). (Asctl::ShellError)
Workaround: Run “chcon -t shell_exec_t /bin/aspshell-r” (#10038)
