Aspera Enterprise Server, Connect Server, and Client 3.3.4 Release Notes

Release Notes: Aspera Enterprise Server, Connect Server, and Client 3.3.4

Product Release: November 1, 2013
Release Notes Updated: December 3, 2013

Release 3.3.4 of Aspera Enterprise Server, Connect Server, and Client provides a number of bug fixes and offers the following new features:

•         The ascp program now reads aspera.conf for whether to preserve time settings (#22600).

•         When using multi-tenant server configurations (for example Azure service), report node user through node reporting API (reliable query).

•         Added node and cluster ID to http fallback reporting.

•         Node API /info returns capabilities (“sync enabled”).

•         #22032 - http fallback transfer does not report absolute 'dest_paths', so transfer complete notification is not sent

•         #22165 - S3 Download Resume with K2 and K3 does not resume.

•         #22741 - File corruption when using an ES 3.3.3 client with an ES 3.3.0.

•         #22752 - ascp manifest and log report slightly inconsistent file sizes when file checksum is enabled.

•         #23354 - a fasp persistent session aborts on source not found. Now, when ascp cannot find a source argument, it marks it as failed and continues with the remaining files.

•         #23485 - ascp quits on a disk read error. Now it marks the file as failed and continues with the remaining files. In particular, ascp no longer quits on “Stale NFS file handle” errors.

•         Fixes to the internal implementation of SSH control and file management have improved performance and robustness.

•         A faspcat bug that resulted in extra bytes when uploading to a remote file has been fixed.

•         The ascp client-side http fallback can cause a crash whenever a fallback happens (infrequent).

•         Windows XP, 2003, Vista, 2008, 7, 8, 2012

•         Linux: Kernel 2.4 or higher and libc version GLIB 2.3.4+

•         MacOS (Aspera Client only): OS X 10.5+, Intel only
