Orchestrator 2.3.5 workflow designer page crashes with “The page you are looking for doesn’t exist” error

After inserting a plugin into your workflow and clicking on it to configure it, you receive the following error message:

The page you are looking for doesn’t exist. Please verify the address entered and re-try again.

The error will continue to appear until you restart Orchestrator.

In the Orchestrator logs, you may also see the following message:

ERROR  Orchestrator : 2016-02-22 15:25:16-0800-WhiteboardsController_70344314912800->comparison of Date with Time failed
This issue affects Orchestrator 2.3.5 and is fixed in Orchestrator 2.4.0 and above. If you are not able to upgrade immediately, you can employ the workaround below.

1. Open the file at the following location:

  • Linux: /opt/aspera/orchestrator/app/views/layouts/new_designer.html.erb
  • Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Aspera\Orchestrator\www\app\views\layouts\new_designer.html.erb

2. Go to line 390, which looks like the following:

    def Date.today
     return Time.now

Replace the <% of the first line with <%# so it looks like the following:

    def Date.today
     return Time.now

Save the file.

3. Restart Orchestrator

You can do so by running the following command for Linux:

# asctl orchestrator:restart

On Windows, go to Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Services. Find Aspera Orchestrator, right click it and select Restart.
