When trying to upgrade from Enterprise Server/Connect Server/P2P/Client 3.5.1 to 3.6.0, the upgrade fails with the following message:
Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this
version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this
product, use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel.
Note: This issue will be resolved in ES/CS/P2P/Client 3.6.1. You may either wait for the 3.6.1 release so you can upgrade directly, or you can employ the workaround below that does not require you to uninstall.
Rather than uninstalling and losing any configurations you may have in place, you can perform a two step upgrade:
3.5.1 > 3.5.6 > 3.6.0
- First, upgrade your product from 3.5.1 to 3.5.6.
- Second, upgrade from 3.5.6 to 3.6.0.
