How to generate a HAR file for page load performance analysis

Description

When you’re having issues with slow web page loading with Aspera web application products (Faspex, Shares or Console), you may be asked to send Aspera Support a HAR file for analysis. A HAR file is a record of network requests and how long it takes to load objects in the browser.

You can generate HAR files in your browser, then send them to Aspera Support for analysis.

Instructions

Go to View > Developer > Developer Tools and click the Network tab.

Select the Preserve log checkbox, then navigate to the web application site that loads slowly. Once the page has finished loading, right click on any of the requests and select Save All as HAR.

Firefox

Go to Tools > Web Developer > Network. Alternatively you can click on the 3 line icon on the top right, click the Developer icon then click the Network tab.

Navigate to the web application site that loads slowly. Once the page has finished loading, right click on any of the requests and select Save as HAR with Content.
